Today, I chaired an administrative meeting to address the alarming flood situation in North Bengal and Murshidabad.

My heart goes out to the six precious lives lost in Gajoldoba and Bhutni. We have provided financial aid of ₹5 lakhs and ₹3 lakhs to the families of those electrocuted, and ₹2 lakhs to the families affected by the boat capsize.

With Nepal releasing 6 lakh cusecs of water from the Kosi river, we are on high alert. I have instructed our officials to expedite relief work and extend all necessary support to those in distress.

GoWB stands firmly beside the shop owners who have suffered losses due to a fire outbreak in Siliguri's Bidhan Market.

To provide relief, the worst-affected shop owners will receive a compensation of ₹1 lakh, while those with lesser damages will be granted Rs. 50,000.
