That way, the “Nigeria’s first man/woman in space” event will be more than a tour. It'll be a futuristic space science & technology leadership vision. Facilitating this through a competitive merit-based process should be the role of the FG in this private-sector-led initiative.
@ARISEtv While it would be terrific to have @benmurraybruce be the first Nigerian to go to space, I suggest that eminent Nigerians yield the slot to a young Nigerian with career aspirations in space science and tech and motivation to drive Nigeria’s possibilities in space tech.
But if the slot goes to an eminent Nigerian, then he/she should pay it forward by awarding full scholarships in the astronautic courses to young Nigerians who will lead the country’s aspirations in space science and technology.
