@IALP_Global@IALPAKL2023@debbie_sell @triona_sweeney How wonderful to see 3 Cleft sessions at the congress and several posters. Well done to all presenters!
My key moments of #IALP2023’s 1st day: the opening session; the great poster from Lyons et al on preparing AHP students to work collaboratively with families (great chats @samharding & @suelizstone) and Lyons et al’s implementation of evidence to practice workshop @UlsterINHR 👏
🆓in @ASHAJournals' @SIGPerspectives, @Debbie_Sell, Claire O'Rourke, @Triona_Sweeney "SLPs should encourage trained parents to take a direct role in intervention with their children, with supervision & support from therapists". https://t.co/PdMI6dWWP3 #cleftpalate🏡@speech_home
@Naomi_Leafe (up-and-coming talent) co-presenting her PhD research with me @ICPLA2023. Findings from Realist science: what works, how, for whom, & in what contexts for parent-implemented intensive digital Tx for children with #ssd. @laurencetaggart @EmmaPagnamenta @UlsterINHR
The roleholder will set up a Specialist Speech Clinic at Cardiff Met for children with persistent, complex and severe SSD which has been resistant to standard intervention and establish masters module in SLT in the field of cleft. Contact [email protected] if interested.
1/2 I have definitely felt this way as a speech & language therapist- large unmanageable caseloads, increasing need & have heard other SALTs talking about service discharge culture, not being able to follow EPB due to service restraints and I’ve sat thinking “what’s the point?”
