MVEC Team Members have been busy elves, helping the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska get ready for its annual Winter Lights display. 🎄 MVEC has been a long-time sponsor of S’mores Village, and this year, we were invited to create a glowing light display of our own. Since we’re the utility that powers the Arboretum, it was only natural to install a three-pole, three-phase lighted power line—making the S’mores Village brighter while lighting up the night with LED lights provided by the Arboretum.
While our linemen set the poles and strung the lights during a warm Autumn day, several other Team Members helped during a four-hour shift, stacking wood for fire pits, decorating the S’mores House, and assembling S’mores kits that visitors can purchase. 🔥
Come see our dazzling bright illumination for the holidays when the Winter Lights open to the public this Friday, Nov. 21, and run through Dec. 31. Tickets and more information are available at: https://t.co/hsgtZzUTtC
@_MVEC_ is piloting deep weatherization and electrification at this member's home. Enjoyed having a chance to see it first hand, with Ryan Fedie and Marvin Denzer (MVEC) and Tracy Smetana @MNCommerce in front of the new heat pump. This project will make a huge difference!
MVEC makes it official!
The co-op's Board of Directors officially named interim Chief Executive Officer Marvin Denzer as CEO this week. Denzer is the cooperative’s seventh general manager/CEO since MVEC was established in 1937.
I appreciate the Star Tribune sharing the concerns of @MNRuralElectric members!
Rushed energy mandate would endanger fragile electric grid https://t.co/LezJ4OsvVp
Today is National #Lineman Appreciation Day. I am thrilled to have this day dedicated to the men and women who risk their lives every day to bring us power ⚡, as well as honoring Henry Miller, the first president of @IBEW. #ThankALineman#WeAreNECA
CFC CEO Sheldon Petersen visited our Finance Manager conference this week before he retires May 2 after almost 40 years. He's been both a friend and an advocate for co-ops across the country. We thank Sheldon and wish him the best in his retirement! @CoopFinanceCorp
Going to miss @BobVogelMNHouse—he is one of the most brilliant, analytical minds in the entire legislature. He rarely spoke on the floor, rarely spoke at press conferences, but the impact of his work (particularly the LBO) is going to last well beyond his years of service. #mnleg
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office recently received a $3,500 grant from Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC) toward the purchase of three new cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) devices.
