Our thoughts are with the people of Venezuela, the Australian-Venezuelan community, and all those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.
We send our deepest condolences following this dreadful tragedy.

Today we learned that KPMG's CEO has resigned. This follows my speech to the Senate in March where I aired a whistleblower’s allegations into the misuse of client information.
KPMG, and the rest of the Big Four, are significant entities for the Australian economy and our Superannuation. The problems we have seen in these partnerships are to the detriment of all.

Just wrapped up our parliamentary delegation to the UK and Poland.
Some great meetings with Polish and Ukrainian Ministers and MPs on defence and cybersecurity cooperation, and organisations supporting Ukrainian refugees at the ReBuild Ukraine Conference.

A full day of meetings on our parliamentary delegation to the UK overnight, promoting Australia's economic and national security.
Great to catch up with Richard Sanders from @meatlivestock and UK Trade Envoy to Australia Lord @spellar.

Global ratings agency Fitch has reaffirmed Australia’s triple-A credit rating.
This is another powerful endorsement of Labor’s responsible economic management.
We’ve made a lot of progress together on the economy and that progress has been acknowledged by the big ratings agencies.
This shows that under the Albanese Government, Australia has one of the best budgets in the G20. #auspol #ausecon @SenKatyG
I am not surprised that this scandal continues.
There is something rotten about this firm, and the sickness goes deep. PwC’s transgressions are a symptom of an attitude towards taxpayers that they have yet to fully reckon with.
The entire sector should take note of what happens when you put profit over ethics.
The partner in the sharp suit can put on all the cologne he wants, but it won’t cover the smell of what’s stuck to his RMs. @edmundtadros

I am deeply saddened by the shooting of the former Speaker of Ukraine, Andriy Parubiy, a fighter for Ukrainian sovereignty and democracy. I reaffirm my solidarity with the Ukrainian people against the illegal and immoral invasion by Russia.

26 weeks of paid parental leave will be life changing for women across Australia. Thank you to the @SDAunion for bringing women to Parliament to hear first hand how paid parental leave is working for them #PPL#auspol#politas@Deborah_ONeill
The PCAOB was established following the collapse of Enron to protect markets from deceptive accounting practices. The decision by the head of the SEC to force out the proactive PCAOB Chair paves the way for big accounting firms to operate unchecked.
Weakening financial oversight doesn't only risk more Enrons, it also risks the trillions of dollars Australians invest globally via superannuation.
Markets need integrity - not chaos.
This morning in an article on government procurement, The Australian chose to use only a section of a quote I had provided - without context or any indication it had been shortened. This is an attempt to create conflict where there is none.
Here’s what I said to them: “I stand by my previous comments, and as a longstanding Labor spokesperson for rural and regional NSW, I’ve seen firsthand how improved connectivity can transform lives outside our cities. Supporting innovation and better services in the bush goes hand in hand with strengthening workplace protections and improving conditions for retail and warehouse workers.”
I fully support efforts by the Australian Council of Trade Unions, the Shop, Distributive & Allied Employee’s Association, and the Transport Workers Union in calling for the Government to use procurement rules to ensure Big Tech companies follow minimum ethical standards.
