BIG NEWS: TikTok will make its algorithmically-sorted For Your Page optional in Europe

Those opt-ing out of an algorithmic FYP will see “popular videos from both the places where they live and around the world” instead of content based on their personal interests

And videos under the “Following” and “Friends” feeds will be displayed in chronological order

The company is making the changes to comply with the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA)

Earlier this week, Meta announced it will ask EU users' permission to show them highly personalised ads, in order to comply with the DSA
