So I've just been asked who I think the most important member of an oncology MDT is, maybe I'm biased as I said the CNS 😳 But we are the patient's advocate, we have an overview of surgical & oncology plans, we know the patient & their family as people and we have that connection
Smiling to myself this morning as the sun is shining, my out of office reply was switched on for a whole week when I left work last night and I'm making up beds ready for little people & their parentals to arrive for the weekend 😍 This makes me very happy!
Been for a gorgeous walk with a friend today at @NTCalkeAbbey starting at Calke Explore and taking the tramway route. When we got back to the house of course had to check out the stunning dahlias in the gardens & the tunnel that is all decorated for Autumn. A really lovely day!
Relaxing in the sunshine with a book, this really is bliss! Not had much opportunity to spend a sunny afternoon in my garden over the last year, but I do love the fact that it's *my* garden and my lovely house still feels as exciting & homely as I ever imagined it would!
Started my day off with a workout in the back garden. Love that I have a lawn to lie on for planks & crunches and then a large patio for my weights reps and dancing around with my new weighted hula hoop. Going to try get into new & better fitness habits this autumn!
But for today I'm going to enjoy the sunshine and having my parents to visit 😊 Went up to the Wirral to see my Nan yesterday which was lovely, she was on fine form & enjoyed looking at photos of my brother, sister-in-law & the children, including her newest great grandchild F!
I always have a slight panic when my NMC reg is up for renewal since opting to pay quarterly by direct debit. I can see the payment has gone out of my bank but until I can see in my online NMC account that it's all still valid I get a bit twitchy! That's not even revalidation!
Does anyone know of any charities that take old glasses and can then test the prescriptions & give them to people overseas who might need glasses? Fairly sure I've heard of something like this but cannot be sure but if they can go to help someone see that would be amazing!
After a morning of being lazy (was still awake at gone 2am!) with a good book & copious amounts of tea, I've then done a blitz on the upstairs housework. The amount of dust was shameful 🤧 but it's looking good now. Just got a mountain of paperwork & other bits to sort before bed
Struggling to properly unwind and get ready for sleep tonight; body is tired but brain strangely jittery 😫 Had a very busy but good 2 long shifts to start my week so I think tomorrow will be some housework, but also some exercise & other things to try calm/slow my mind
Had a dentist appointment this morning, just a check up but the anxiety was definitely still there! Thankfully got a clean bill of health and the dentist was fab! Reminder set on my phone for another check up in 6 months 🦷🪥
Another batch cooking bonanza for me this afternoon! 9 portions of soup & 14 meals going into the freezer ready for work lunches. And tomorrow's chicken & chorizo stew + extra veggies all ready to go. Also made a big pot of fruit salad to have with yoghurt for snacks/pudding
I've been away for the weekend & managed 14 #NursesActive miles walking around reservoirs & national trust parklands with friends. Absolutely glorious weather as well, feeling really energised from the beautiful sunshine even if I was glowing a bit by the end of yesterday's walk
I'm also utterly besotted with my new nephew and am missing all the snuggles I've had with him, his big brother & big sister, my arms feel empty after spending the weekend with them!
Back home and getting my brain/life in gear ready for work tomorrow. It's been a gorgeous week of annual leave and although there was hospital visiting with a poorly relative, I also got to relax with my parents. Even saw some sun at the beach to aid the much needed vitamin sea!
Getting a bit more confident with my natural wave/curls and they're definitely more defined & less frizzy with the change of products
Biggest change is only brushing my hair to detangle it before I wash, otherwise I go back to being a fluff ball 🤣
Starting my annual leave wide awake since silly o clock, even earlier than my alarm has gone off the last few days for work 🤦🏼♀️ So I'm sitting in bed with a cuppa & my book, listening to the rain and wondering quite what to do with myself today!
Ahhhh, I'm in love!! My gorgeous nephew Frederick "Freddie" William arrived yesterday and I've just had a video call with all the family! Big sister H is calling dibs on the majority of cuddles at the moment and I hope I can go see them soon!
@shiv_smith @G_Stephens80 Ooh that's exciting, is there a lot of genetics involved in that? I'm still loving AOS & work with such a fabulous team!! It has its stressful moments but any job does!
