Electronic devices are very widespread and everyone owns a certain amount of them. However, not everyone knows how to properly dispose or recycle unused electronic devices. 📱♻️

“In the OASIS, no one could tell that I was fat, that I had acne, or that I wore the same shabby clothes every week,”
#ReadyPlayerOne is an example of how people see virtual space as save place. The world becomes better once we escaped to imaginations.
#BCM325#ReadyPlayerOne
Events happened in Oasis are going to reorganize sequences in the real world. People believe representations in Oasis is their real self. The two space have merged as one.

Despite the dystopian scenery and how expensive VR currently is, the future depicts that they're basically as common as phones nowadays if poor people can have them.
Is this VR the causing novum for the world to be depicted as a collapsing biosphere and poverty?
#BCM325#ReadyPlayerOne
The different cityscapes between real world and virtual world (Oasis). Majestic cityscape that full of metal, screens and signal receivers.
#BCM325 What will social platforms and content creation become in 10 years?

Frank's robot is only programmed as a caretaker not a law breaker at the beginning, but it later develops as feedback loops goes on. The Robot eventually planned the steal with Frank together.
#BCM325
Unlike HAL in #2001ASpaceOdyssey, the robot in #RobotandFrank convinced Frank to wipe its memories because it knows the memories are putting Frank in danger.
#BCM325
Just like what McLuhan said, "technology is the extended inner self". Human in #RobotandFrank use automatic glasses and screen to communicate with others, and even healthcare robot. Are human the cyborg?
#BCM325
I’d say that #RobotandFrank is set in a utopian future. Although it points out the dilemma of wiping out memories of robots, depart from machine that developed emotions. Robots are still portrayed as a good caretaker and friends.
Fun Fact:
The robot in the movie was actually based on real robots being developed in Japan for elder care, called Paro! Would you own a Paro one day in the future?? #BCM325
#bcm325
To some degree, the robot can control your life to fit a schedule. Perhaps it is part of their programming, but they can persuade which may influence human behaviour.
While this robot is suggesting from good will, what if one programs robots to brainwash others instead?
#BCM325#RobotandFrank
Technology is not only being depicted as an extension of human’s health care. Care robot also make daily conversation with elderlies who are alone all the time. It is also a psychological support to Frank.

Finally a movie set in a utopian future setting. It really shows how these machines. Won’t “murder you in your sleep”. But these innovations can actually be really useful if we use it correctly. Like how we can turn an old-fashioned library into AR library.
