@_Agstyles_ virtual is the opposite spectrum of the actual." Even tho the characters we see in the OASIS seem real, they aren't actually the real person! I believe this is what they wanted as well. For each other to know who they really are in reality.
@_Agstyles_ Honestly, I think that was a good idea. It allows people to appreciate the real world and actually achieve things in the real world as well, not just in the OASIS. This reminds me of what we learned in our lecture. De Leurs stated "virtual is not opposed to the real, but rather -

I am still conflicted as to which type of prediction scenario this film is, but I am leaning towards pragmatic more.
I think this film predicts a future where ultimately machines would benefit humankind and the whole world. -

We are greeted with a cyborg at the beginning of the film. Does this mean that we would replace parts of our body with machines? or is this just another AI helping to reconstruct Alita?

Even though Alita doesn't remember anything, she subconsciously remembers her fighting skills.
This is a very human-like trait. I've read that even though one forgets their identity, they subconsciously remember some things.
@apm625 Actually, you might be right! It does seem more likely that we would be living underground. But do you think everyone would be able to go to Mars? I think most of humanity would be left behind
