NEW➡️ Research confirms presenteeism is bad for public health.
Contrary to common misconception, workers do not abuse #PaidSickDays. In fact, they under-use them in fear of retaliation.
Staying home when sick would prevent the spread of deseases.

Norma is a migrant worker who has called Ontario home for 36 years. To this day, Norma is denied healthcare because of her immigration status. It's time for #Heallthcare4All regardless of immigration status.

This is a must-read article, outlining massive wage theft and systemic failures in the trucking sector.

Personal Support Workers deserve respect, not a system that denies them basic rights.
Today, PSWs, allies, and union members rallied outside Doug Ford’s office to demand justice, accountability, and fair treatment for the workers who care for our communities every single day.
PSWs deserve due process, representation, and the same protections afforded to other regulated health professionals. We will continue to fight back against a system that leaves workers without a voice.
Respect PSWs. Fix HSCPOA. ✊🏽
Tina Yazdani reported Sylvia Jones allocating “unprecedented” public heathcare dollars to private surgical clinics as Ontarians are paying 3× more for knee arthroscopy surgery at Don Mills for-profit surgical unit $4,037 vs $1,273 public hospital.
The Ford government says it is addressing capacity pressures inside hospitals, even as a new report finds a sharp spike in ER wait times is putting patients at risk.
The majority of hospitals are also forecasting budget deficits.
We ask the health minister about the findings:
SHAME: "Last year, the Min. of Labour, @ONTatwork, found a restaurant owed 13 former employees nearly $115,000 in wages, plus $133,000 in damages—around $250,000 in total. My share came to [about $30K]. ... But it quickly became clear: getting an order to pay is one thing; actually getting paid is another."

Health workers protest outside @EvanLSolomon's office to #SayNoToCuts to refugee healthcare. This is part of a national day of action happening in 12 cities across the country!
@MarkJCarney must urgently reverse the cuts to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) #Health4All
Equal Pay Day is April 14!
👇Here are 3 actions the Ford Government could take today to close the pay gap.
It's 2026 but the gender pay gap in Canada means women still make 68 cents on average for every dollar earned by white men according to the @EqualPayON. Racism widens the gap. Racialized women get only 62 cents for every dollar, while Black and Indigenous women earn just 58 cents. It's time for change!

On March 28, 2026, Workers’ Action Centre members came together at two Latin World locations in Toronto to demand over $3,700 in stolen wages owed to two employees.
We are urging the community to stop going to this establishment and call on the owner, Tatiana Fernandez, to take responsibility and pay the wages she owes. Since we took action, more Latin World employees have come forward about mistreatment and wage theft. It’s time we put a stop to it!
Sixty years ago today, Canada created SAWP — tying migrants to employers.
60 years of exploitation. 60 years of resistance. Migrants are the solution.

On April 1, 2026, the federal minimum wage will increase to $18.15/hour.
🏆 Workers campaigned hard to reinstate a federal minimum wage and won in 2021, also securing annual increases indexed to the Consumer Price Index. While these are important wins, workers know the fight continues!
Better labour laws, like higher minimum wage, are only as strong as their enforcement. For too many federally regulated workers like truck drivers, #wagetheft is an all too common reality. Yes, workers need higher minimum wages, but we also need governments at all levels to enforce these minimum standards and do their jobs.
When workers are tied to closed permits, power imbalances drive exploitation and wage theft, causing fear, income instability, and barriers to healthcare that harm the mental and physical health of temporary foreign workers.

I am deeply concerned about Ontario's serious hospital underfunding. The 0.7% funding increase is not near what hospitals need. We're going lose nurses, PSWs and beds. I'm already doing waiting room medicine in the ER. Thanks @MooreintheAM for talking to me about this crisis.
When employers don't pay for waiting time for rideshare drivers and misclassify them as independent contractors, it cuts income and strips away basic protections like sick leave and health benefits.
