@conortrains Scotlands 5-10 years behind the bell curve with most shit, online entrepreneurship no exception.
Anecdotally know of a few hometown acquaintances starting fashion brands, but they look more like early Gymshark type clones, so still a ways to go
@elliotkovac28 100%. Same goes for 'AI media buying' IMO - any top tier media buyer could build an agentic workflow to optimise ad accounts, especially with Meta Ads MCP coming to Claude etc
@proptechpioneer “… I refuse to give my home away cheaply just because of the ridiculous economic climate we’re in…”
What an incredible statement. How do these people have no grasp of market value
@couuor@brianrolph3 I interpret ‘media buying is dead’ more of a critique against 10% of spend agencies/freelancers - obviously pushing the buttons inside an ad account still matters, it’s just the knowledge gap (and thus the cost) to do so is shrinking to near zero
@drewfallon12 The Noted Aromas deal looks incredible on the surface - raised no equity (that I can see) and sells 3-4 years after founding for £31m... Insane
@thesamparr To be fair isn't the underlying issue just semantics here?
You said you sold for $40m and are including your personal compensation + underlying equity growth in that - versus the actual sale price of ~$20m, which is what investors & employees would see it as?
@andreilunev How do you recommend sourcing that volume of creative? That's my biggest bottleneck with running CC. I assume you're deploying mainly statics?
@fabien_mouvet Yeah for sure - I used to work for a big independent who charged 20% to enterprise clients (🙃). Those scenarios it’d be an easier sell but I worry the lower market could be a bit of a slog for you guys - though I hope I’m wrong!
Just my 2¢
