2) Really Listen
3) Who are present: in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, lunchroom
4) Value Teachers time (planning, meetings, after school)
5) Support/encourage them
6) check on/ check in with them
7) Have their back

@DrBradJohnson Not to mention we aren’t even allowed to look at the questions being asked on the tests or we are in violation of test security. Everything about it goes against what it means to teach children. I’m an instant feedback, let’s reflect on errors kind of girl.

@ERobbPrincipal I wonder what it would take for the other leaders of the school, the teachers, to start creating change in the climate? We are the relationship builders of our students. What if every teacher stood outside their door to greet students every morning? I bet the principal would see.

Students should walk into a school building every day being greeted by teachers. Let me be clear on this…I’m not talking about a hello when they enter the room. I’m talking every teacher standing outside their doors with genuine happiness to see each child that passes.

Why do educators keep telling me and tweeting how burnt out I am? I’m not! I’m good. I’m making a difference in the lives of children every day. Is it hard? Yes! But this calling was never meant to be easy! I refuse to focus on the negatives.

Admin, don’t let parents bypass the teacher and come to you first with an issue. Let them know the teacher is in control of classroom & they need to discuss with teacher first. This lets the parents know that you support the teacher and that they can’t manipulate the system.
