It's absolutely true that if Dems had appointed the highest-ever ranking openly gay man to the Cabinet, he'd be endlessly celebrate, but since it's Trump with Bessent, it's ignored (Bush 43 appointed the first-ever black woman as Secretary of State).

But it's also true from the other side: Bessent isn't just gay but married to a man, with whom he has two children obtained through paid surrogate. He brought them all every day to his Senate confirmation hearing. Those usually enraged by this said nothing and still say nothing.🤷‍♂️
