I was sent out of Canada
Yes that’s why I came back home a few months ago
Yep, you read that right.
So I came into Canada with a spousal open work permit. And when it was about to expire, we applied for an extension.
And we were just about our business waiting for the extension to come out only for us to get a rejection mail. This came at a crucial time as there was a change of government and rapid immigration policy changes.
Omo, everywhere first blur. Premium tears everywhere
We did not see it coming at all. And I had a few days to leave the country ASAP.
My husband wanted to start running around seeing how to appeal the rejection without me leaving but I just told him “babe let’s leave it. I’ll go.”
I was not sure what God was doing but I trusted Him. And so I came back to Nigeria.
I went about my Fathers business like nothing dey sup. Trusting the one who has called me.
Then the dots began to connect.
Then came Covabodi festival. You know how that went to the glory of God
Then came brand ambassadorial roles.
If I tell you the other things God helped me achieve in this trip ehn, you’ll open your mouth in wonder.
Like, I began to understand that Canada did not send me away. God brought me back to carry out specific assignments.
One morning we woke up and I got a email.
“Congratulations Deborah, you’re now a permanent resident of Canada”
Yup. You’re looking at the latest Canadian permanent resident.
When I flew into Canada last week, I bounced in there like a madam.
I’m sharing this testimony to let you know that you need to trust God completely with your life.
You see that scripture that says all things work together for good? I need you to believe it with everything inside of you
Your wedding plans scattered? It’s working for your good
They served you breakfast? It’s working for your good
You did not get that opportunity? It’s working for your good.
Be pro-active, play your part, send in the application, do all that you should do and leave the rest to God
You may not see what God is doing in the moment, but as long as you’re faithfully serving and following God, just trust Him.
The dots will connect
And you will look and say “oh, Father so this is what you had in mind.”
Celebrate with me jare. God don run am🥳🥳
PS: Peep my resident card🥰
Blessings!

my therapist once told me “since you’re a good person, sometimes people will be mean to you because you’re a reflection of what they can't be” wow just wow
Bandits will kidnap a person from public transport and demand a crazy amount for ransom, do you think a person whose family can easily raise twenty million naira will be on a night bus travelling to KOGI?
To all Yahoo boys, take note: The FBI now has an official presence in Nigeria. If you defraud a US citizen while living in Nigeria, the FBI and Nigerian Police will work together to arrest and extradite you to the US. You can’t hide in Nigeria for fraud anymore. It’s over!
You have to fall in love with her in different versions. The young her, the tired her, the pregnant her, the ambitious her, the difficult her, the woman she becomes with time. That’s the real secret.
My cousin passed away two years ago, leaving his wife behind. They didn't have any children during their three years of marriage.
His younger brother wanted to marry her, but she said no because she doesn't want to be intimate with two brothers.
My uncle supported his son and said that tradition allows it.
The woman packed her bags and left.
Her father then returned the bride price.
Last November, she got married to a wealthy man, and she gave birth to twins last week.
Someone told me something crazy recently.
His friend who lives abroad had been sending ₦500,000 home every month for his mother's upkeep.
He had been doing it for almost a year until he somehow realized his mother had actually died months earlier.
He was confused because he usually spoke to her on the phone.
Apparently, his mother's sister, who sounded almost exactly like her, had been the person using the phone.
His relatives knew, but they kept quiet just because they wanted the money to keep coming.
You CANNOT go back in time and change the decisions you took. Forgive yourself, move on, be your best version. You're alive and until death all defeat is psychological.
Rebuild.
