Similar experience. ANA NRT-BOM. Used Magnus to United. ~63.3k miles + $26.3 each for 2 pax. It was the first time we managed to redeem for an international J class experience. Superb! Thanks to all the community members who keep sharing on this forum! Too many to tag.#ccgeeks

✈️ ANA DEL - HND roundtrip redemption

57,500 ANA miles + $358 in taxes.

Most of these miles were accumulated in my ANA account through Star Alliance travel.

Booking with ANA can be challenging at times due to their award waitlist. However, United's award search comes in handy to narrow down to specific dates.

ANA only flies Dreamliners equipped with an older J cabin to India. Nonetheless, it was incredibly clean and in good shape considering its age.

Learnt something new with @ThaiAirways at BOM. They won't allow a @staralliance Gold passenger to bring a guest to the lounge. When I showed them the star alliance website, they told me TG's policy differs. When I asked for the policy - they said it's not written but instructed.

@LiveFromALounge Got Star Gold Status by transferring credit card points to SQ Kris in 20-21. Either way, the lack of understanding of the service expected from a @staralliance member was quite disappointing.

@iRadhikaGupta @airindiain Unfortunately, they’re deploying the ex-Delta aircraft on this route on alternate days at the moment. It flew the leg yesterday. Looks like this inconsistency of aircraft deployment is likely to continue till they get all 5 aircraft (3 delivered so far).

@airindiain AI180 for 21 MAR is delayed and still not airborne. AI’s US ops to/from BOM seem to be extremely unreliable. The flight to JFK has been quite delayed all of the last week. Can’t recommend to friends and family yet😒 @rajeshdogra7 @Vinamralongani
