Keywords are "could result in upward pressure on rents" that means it has not happened yet even in this pessimistic view. So, the Trump/Vance demonization of immigrants for driving up the cost of housing in the US is not justified even in this highlighted view. Even more convicted the illegal immigration crisis, which is already on the mend, can be fully solved using the saner approach offered by Harris and Democrats and we don't need to poison the well with the demagoguery of Trump/Vance and some republicans.

Yes exactly! Unfortunately, in our current justice delivery in India political connections, economic status, religion, or even possibly caste plays a role in who gets bail quickly and who languishes in jail for months or years. So, courts need to err on the side of caution - i.e., not letting possible innocents get harmed, definitely in non-heinous crime cases. SC has itself noted many times that "Bail should be the rule and jail the exception" but with this approach of applying that philosophy case by case will mean that it will take forever till some get relief. So why not issue a bulk ruling in response of a PIL or something?
