There is a guy who sells fruits outside the Aga Khan Hospital gate & yesterday he developed severe abdominal pain. He was lying by the roadside, crying in agony(Maasai man crying) while people walked past.

When I asked his Maasai colleague to rush him into the hospital, he became visibly distressed. “We can’t afford it,” he said. “We’ll only go to Kenyatta.” ‘We are waiting for the boda’

That moment captured a painful reality: Many Kenyans will die everyday because they can’t afford standard emergency care. No one should have to weigh unbearable pain against the cost of staying alive. Sad country.
