@eigenrobot Freedom allows you to intensify who you are. If you don't start off with an already moral society that isn't going to look very good. I say this as a freedom absolutist.
@wil_da_beast630 Something they also won't admit: To the extent that it hurt Africans in part or in whole, Arab colonialism was way worse than European colonialism. You need to spend about ten minutes in a place like Zanzibar to realise that.
@ASBaird@eigenrobot@tracewoodgrains The thing is that most of those sects consider the other sects to be part of or contain many members of the catholic church. Say, Baptists consider Bible believing Anglicans to be saints with some funny, but not fundamentally incompatible, ideas. LDS crosses that line for most.
@Glinner I feel like we all went to school with at least one girl like this and also had at least one teacher like this and recognise their type instantly even though I couldn't give it a name or pin down some underlying characteristic.

@reddit_lies Fire them for wearing a shirt that says "do crime," and save your organisation whatever headaches this person will inevitably cause in the future.
@ShitpostRock2 From the drone's point of view, it is hovering in place. From an absolute physics point of view, there is no "stationary or moving." There are relative velocity, and acceleration.
The Netherlands also has its Henry Nowak cases.
In July 2020, 14-year-old Tamar from Marken was hit by a car on a dark dike road and left to die. Her body was later found in the berm.
What happened next is deeply disturbing.
The police initially told her mother that the driver was German. Days later the truth came out: it was four Iraqis in the car. The mother was told they withheld the real background because they didnโt want to create a "Wilders-effect" โ they didnโt want to give Geert Wilders political ammunition.
Even worse: evidence strongly suggests Tamarโs body was moved after the accident. The driver didnโt just flee, they dragged her off the road and left her there like an animal.
The driver received only a โฌ1,500 fine for looking at his phone while driving. He then disappeared completely. The fine was returned โundeliverableโ and for years he was untraceable.
Only after years of fighting by the family (including going to court to force prosecution), a breakthrough came in March 2026: the now 33-year old Jamal is finally being prosecuted for causing the fatal accident and leaving the scene.
Just like Henry Nowak in Southampton โ an innocent young person dies, authorities seem more focused on protecting a narrative and avoiding โpolitical incorrectnessโ than on delivering swift justice.
A 14-year-old girl dies on a Dutch dike. The system lies about the identity of the driver, gives him a slap on the wrist, loses him for years, and only after massive pressure does real prosecution begin.
This is not just a traffic accident. This is a story about truth, accountability, and what happens when institutions put ideology before grieving families.
Her name was Tamar.
She was 14.
She deserved better.

@RealPostFolder I don't understand these situations. How are you people all staying in contact with people you don't like? A girl turns you down in high school but somehow you're still in contact years later? Do these people all live in a town of 500 or something?
