They won't allow us to access our bank account on the Android app if we don't give permissions to our contacts, camera, calls, etc. This is a blatant violation of customers' privacy and PDPA! @PDPCSingapore please wake up & act!

@piyush24 @dbsbank @posb The DBS/POSB Digibank apps on Android won't work if not given the permission to access photos, media, files, phone, manage calls, and of course location. None of these are required on iOS. Absolute disregard for customer privacy and consent. Disgraceful!

@dbs_care Yes, but on iOS I can deny the permissions and still continue to access the Digibank app and use most of the features. But on Android, it doesn't allow me to even enter the app if I deny any one of the several permissions that it asks. This is unethical and maybe even illegal!

@dbs_care By blocking access to the app entirely for not giving access to camera and contacts, your intent certainly looks malicious. You are violating customers' privacy and disrespecting the customers' discretion and choice to grant access. This is shameful and disgraceful!

@dbs_care Whether data is protected is not the question. The ques is why request access to phone, contacts, camera, etc. & block access to the app entirely if not given the permissions? If I need to scan a QR code, I can temporarily give access to the camera & revoke. Why permanent access?

@ConvertAPI_ I would have definitely upgraded after exhausting my free quota, but I'm really not pleased with the approach of disabling the account even when I'm using the service "fairly". Do you really think you'll be able to win customers by using such offhand tactics?!

@ConvertAPI_ The response from your support: "The free account is for staging/demo only and they are removed after several months. If you want to test our service then create a new account and if you would like to use it in production-buy the package." Where is this in your T&Cs?

@ConvertAPI_ Very displeased. My account was suddenly deactivated when I was still within the free quota & using the service "fairly". When I contacted the support, they said: "Are you a paying customer? If not, then upgrade first." Is this the way you treat potential customers?
