Comment “READY”.
“Why would I pay some third world service provider who got their skills from YouTube more than a first world professional with a real degree?”
Someone left this comment on a post I made last month. (I'm paraphrasing cause I can't remember the exact words)
I ignored it at the time because it wasn’t worth engaging with. But for some weird reason, it came flashing back today.
(S/N: I tried to find it and that came up. No surprise there)
Let’s ignore the negative undertone of that comment and pick out something:
YouTube is a fantastic platform to pick up skills and gain real insider knowledge from experts but as professionals, don’t stop there.
- Take courses with structured lesson plans and activities on sites like Coursera, Udemy, Edx, LinkedIn learning, HP Life etc.
It’ll provide wholesome knowledge on your industry, especially as a newbie.
Now, I have just one question: Does a degree/certificate outweigh experience and results?
