@larosajulianna Thats what happens when you have big hungry cooperate men creating the movies, but growing up no one really noticed the undertones until people over social media starting pointing them out.
@ConcordiaAlice I love this! Yes, Disney did put underlying messages that were negative, but they also put positive ones. Which were the ones we took forward in life. Only seeing the negative messages later on in life.
I've always loved the princess movies but I never had thought of the deeper effects it might have, this explains our societies distortions when it comes to body image issues #Lesson11
Disney also is teaching us that it is ok to stay with someone who is abusive. That it's ok, if you just love them enough, they turn around. Which is never the case.
@stephwalters307 I know! I'm actually going to disney in a few weeks and it's kind of ruining my trip.. I can't look at mickey and all the princesses the same! 😥
@stephwalters307 when we are younger we are simply too young, as adults rewatching we choose to ignore the underlying messages as it destroys our childhood memories.
@misssara955 Out of all the Disney movies i think theres one 1 black princess. They were very racist, but seem be trying to put more culture into their movies now
As we grow up and rewatch the Disney movies we all saw the underlying messages we just chose to over look them to keep those memories we had about them.
