Each Core Competency has a different symbol carved into this paper lantern. Once the candle is lit, the skills allow each individual to shine in their own way, bringing light to the world. #corecompetencies#smclearns@RosePillay1
@misstrinity3n1@msmeganjoseph Can you fully participate or just follow along? Words can communicate more than just intellect. The Bible is words and it communicates the Divine.
Thanks @RosePillay1 for letting me know I forgot the C in my E.D.C.A.M.P. acronym! The Core Competencies rely on Communication between students and teachers and create the bedrock for education
What I've learned about the core competencies:

My experience of @EdCampBCCC#corecompetencies#EdCampBCCC#bcedchat
Common ground
Open and honest conversation
Reflecting on new ways of teaching
Educating starts with learning from our students
We’re de-bunking the myth that Core Competencies are an ‘add-on.’ It’s time to develop metacurricular ideas about the enduring skills we wish students to have. The curricular competencies *are* the core competencies, but contextualized. #criticalthinking#EdCampBCCC
@deirdreoc154 We have seen many schools do this - choosing a competency to focus on for a month or term and having classes contribute photos, reflections etc. Great way to make Core Competencies visible in a school!
