"And leave a light on in your lonely window / And a heartfelt welcome in your eye / From far away on the deep, black ocean / You’re the one I’ll come back to find..." — Glen Hansard
Recorded live in the Asturian highlands during The Camino Voyage, this session bridges Irish folk and northern Spanish tradition.
Pilgrimage is not merely a geographic passage, but an exercise in sacred hospitality. Hansard’s voice, joined by Asturian and Irish musicians, turns the song into a sanctuary for the weary traveler.
Leave a light on. The road is long, but the haven is real.
"Take this sinking boat and point it home / We've still got time..." — Glen Hansard
Before the Academy Awards and arena tours, the song existed as a quiet refuge of vulnerability. Hansard’s acoustic delivery turns the act of "sinking" into an intentional, dignified surrender.
True resonance does not depend on massive production. A voice and raw wood are enough to anchor a soul in the dark.
Today I introduced legislation to ban floor crossing without voter consent. When MPs switch parties after an election, they override the will of the people and erode trust. My bill restores accountability: if you want to change parties, face your constituents and let them decide.
The athlete with Down syndrome, noticing the sadness of his defeated opponent, immediately ran up to him and raised his hand up .💖
A beautiful reminder that kindness matters more than winning 🥹
Think you'd like my film I had the honour of making all those years ago:
8 Million Feet to Rome: The Funeral of Pope John Paul II https://t.co/yCmgL6mBw2
Saint John Paul II was the most seen person in the entire 20th century and his funeral still stands as the largest funeral in the history of the world with more than 4 million mourners.
This man had every reason to be bitter at God and the world. His entire immediate family died before he reached 21. Instead, he united his suffering to the suffering of Christ and more people learned about the love of God from JP2 than any other person in history.
Dolores Claman's 1968 song, "The Hockey Theme", performed by the Jerry Toth Orchestra. Dolores would later say she had never seen a hockey game in person before writing the song, instead imagining Roman Gladiators battling while writing it.
Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
Honouring the beautiful life and inexhaustible goodness of my dear friend John Smeltzer who died in 2017 but not before healing my life, as he did so many others.
John lived Love, its truest form.

On Feb 19, 1991 we released Road Apples. 35 years ago today.
We originally wanted to call the record Saskadelphia but our label thought it was too “Canadian”. We offered Road Apples as an option, thinking they’d never go for it, but they loved it.
In Return of the Pink Panther (1975), Catherine Schell couldn’t get through multiple takes of Peter Sellers doing a Bogart impression without breaking into uncontrollable laughter. In the end. Blake Edwards gave up and left it in the final cut. "Here is lurking at you, kid.” 🤣
