A friend of mine has a whole rant about the "virtual assistant" market that Nigeria has pretty much turned to due to system failure. Doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, urban planners, mathematicians etc are becoming virtual assistants because of what is essentially system collapse
Our country is in such disarray that they turn us into seemingly performative complainants.
People losing their lives in the name of religion. Children being stolen from their families like their lives are worth nothing.
"Sorry" is not enough. Never has been. Never will be. No value for life. Not from the powers that be. Not from the powerless.
If the government doesn't get up and do something like they would if these were THEIR children, then we know exactly where they stand. We know exactly what we mean to them.
Our epistles and tears haven't done much, if anything. They just wait us out.
"They'll get tired and move on to something else." And what do you know, they succeed.
Well here's another, hopefully useful, epistle. I personally don't know what to do, but I hope that the people CAN do something finally have had enough and do something. Please. 🙏🏽
Patriarchy and the socialization of women really works so well. Because a man would never site not being in a relationship as the single point of being a failure in their life at the ripe age of 31
Going to work on removing filler words and noises from my speech for the rest of the year. "Like" "kinda" "sort of" "umm". By q2 next year i want to eliminate it
So weird that most of the people I have met who talk a lot and proudly about their therapy are more annoying and toxic than they used to be. These days once someone starts banging on about therapy I brace myself for unkindness. And there have only been few exceptions.
The Falcons have won WAFCON for the 10th time. They deserve all the respect, endorsements, pay, media rounds, magazine covers and airtime their less accomplished colleagues do usually get oh. 👀
I have some great news.
A parent at this tournament was so impressed by the performance of the chess in slums kids and they just committed to sponsoring the education of all 10 of them till they’re done with their University education.
The trajectory of some of those lives of the kids affected by JAMB’s mistake, have been changed forever; relationships with parents, higher education options etc. but it’s being treated way too lightly. I am so so so annoyed
