Given the violent nature of the Avatar world, I think that way more people should have visible scars/injuries/disabilities.
This thought came to me when I realized that Zuko is the only firenation national I can remember for having scars sustained from burning. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty cool that there are some characters with visible physical damage/scars/injuries but realistically, I think waay more people should have those as well.
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE AANG STRAIGHT UP ABANDONED APPA HERE πππππ Y'ALL THIS HAD ME CRYING SO HARD I WAS LATE FOR WORK AND MY BOSS CALLED ME A LIAR πππ₯

Aang never actually beats Azula in a clean 1v1 during the entire series. Even with the Avatar State or during the eclipse when she couldnβt firebend, she still manages to avoid defeat. Why was Azula such a nightmare matchup for him?
@KachySZN Because Azula fought like a chess player while Aang fought like a pacifist. She was always trying to win; he was always trying not to hurt anyone.
Fun Fact: Before the genocide, the Air Nomads were the smallest nation, but they had a genetic anomaly: every single child born to an Air Nomad was an airbender.
In the Earth, Fire, and Water nations, bending is a mix of genetics and spiritual luck, resulting in plenty of non-benders.
But because the Air Nomads lived lives of absolute spiritual purity and total connection to their element, their spiritual resonance guaranteed a 100% bending birthrate.
