Hi, person who was mad suicidal for ~10 years and now loves her life here! The change didn’t happened overnight, it was more like mental strength training. Every time I had a negative thought about myself, the world, a potential outcome, I combatted it with a positive thought. I started really examining whether the negative thoughts I was indulging in were true or if I was just addicted to how they made me feel. When I wanted to do something bad to myself, I did something good. When i would fuck up and do something harmful to myself, I would try my best to forgive myself as quickly as possible and then do something kind to myself. And not like “give myself a treat” kind. Genuinely kind, like cook myself a nutritious meal or take a long bath. Most of the work I did involved opposite action. Eventually positive thoughts became mentally habitual. I trained my brain into making optimism its default mode.
*it’s worth noting, this is how you get the most out of SSRI’s if you’re on them. I’m not a big fan of meds, but SSRI’s increase neuroplasticity making it easier to instill new thought patterns. Same with microdosing psilocybin*
Can finally talk about this - I was one of the artists on the Coca-Cola commercial.
It was a ton of work, and the project was full of people driven to put out the best work we possibly could.
Thank you to @secret__level and @jasonzada for letting me be a part of this landmark project!
Wake up and immediately look at small screen before clocking 8 hours behind medium screen. Take a few breaks to check in on small screen. Go home and spend a few hours staring at big screen to wind down before getting into bed and looking at small screen.
Living the dream.
People have to understand, this isn’t about some woman dropping N bombs in a park and getting paid.
This is about white people demonstrating, through support of this woman, that they’ve had enough.
