Unpopular opinion about DINK choosing couples.
I think wanting children is the most natural thing. Not wanting is a result of an unresolved childhood trauma or a heavy self (and ecosystem) doubt. These couples were deeply pained either at their parents' sacrifices or incompatibility or toxicity. At times it could be a messy combo of all. They don't want to bring a child into that mess that exists in their subconsciousness. Financial readiness is also a factor but we seem to be talking about affluent section today.
Krishna from bookworm says the best way to support them right now is to buy their book coupons. No expiry date and perfect gift. They ship all across India.
@bugsquelcher Start with hobbies adjacent to the media consumption. Make lists of things you watched, write down a quote that stayed with you, go down the rabbit hole of a writer/ maker/ actor/performer you watched, write down alternate endings or premises, learn a dialogue by heart.
@thelonevert ++ these platforms will reduce salaries /incentives / rates. This is labor exploitation. There is no innovation here. No wonder VCs are rushing to fund another business model which relies on extracting resources from the poor and distributing them to the rich.
@Aunindyo2023 There is a systemic issue. But that doesn't mean human exploitation is a valid business model. Lower class, caste people in India are subsidizing upper class/caste people and VC funded businesses. Our 'convenient' lifestyle is sponsored by the toil of the poor.
@Aunindyo2023 There is a fault of people building and funding these apps. They are basically exploration tools. Why should you be able to "order" a human to your house, like a thing, to do labor you yourself won't do. These apps will reduce the salaries and rates and incentives.
In the coming weeks, we plan to start testing ads in ChatGPT free and Go tiers.
We’re sharing our principles early on how we’ll approach ads–guided by putting user trust and transparency first as we work to make AI accessible to everyone.
What matters most:
- Responses in ChatGPT will not be influenced by ads.
- Ads are always separate and clearly labeled.
- Your conversations are private from advertisers.
- Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers will not have ads.
@thejobchick It's essentially for doing management's dirty work - difficult conversations, turning inhumane asks in to "policy", trying to make up for bad company culture.
