"They want the country to collapse. A depopulated, partitioned US is easier to exploit and control. To them, the state is just something to sell. They do not care if the buyers are foreign or domestic."

There is a reason why we established a rule-based order in 1945, even though it has been far from perfect. The United Nations, especially the UNSC, are heavily flawed. In many if not most cases, where decisive questions were asked, the UNSC has been proven useless, and even when UN resolutions passed, they were frequently just ink on paper.
Yet, there were some universal rules which all sides have abided, because they were too much, even for this flawed system. Not changing borders by force and annexation of neighboring territories were some of them, especially by a nuclear power. Russia grossly violated this universal rule back in 2014 and the world stayed basically silent, inevitably leading to the events starting 2022. If not corrected it will launch a process which cannot be reversed. Countries across the globe will acquire nuclear weapons, because it is virtually the only effective mean to counter an aggressive neighbor. Ukraine might be the first country to do so, for good reason, but it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
Dozens of countries are just waiting and watching how the events will unfold in Ukraine. If Russia can get away with it, even partially, then all dams would break. It would be without any hyperbole the most consequential developments of our times, including all unpredictable consequences. No Isolationist country or government on this planet would be immune from those events. We are all into this.
Yesterday, Bernie Sanders tore into the Democratic Party’s “big money interests and well-paid consultants” who abandoned working-class voters. Bernie was stating an obvious truth — one that Democratic leaders seem hell-bent on ignoring. https://t.co/I4weMwzHod
Insane that expanding the two things that produce Democratic voters:
1. College education &
2. Union membership
is not a priority for the Democratic Party at all.
(Keeping student loans and courting Silicon Valley are more important.)
anyway I think it’s cool that they got Biden elected by promising a one-term presidency, and instead of spending the last 4 years building up an electable younger candidate to replace him in 2024, they just kind of shrugged and said “nah shut up it’ll be fine”
@NYflightguy OR maybe we should have real primaries again and noT cut the winner off at the knees because of corporate interests. If the DNC didn't fuck Bernie in 2016 NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
Russia calling in bomb threats to polling places in liberal districts across the country should be bigger news right now. They’re interfering for Trump right in the open, right in front of our faces
