Omarchy + SQLite + AI agents doing the heavy lifting.
Weโve officially gone full circle from bloated enterprise clouds back to lightweight local setups supercharged by agents. What a time to be alive.
Most devs are using AI coding assistants like fancy autocomplete. The real leverage is moving to autonomous workflows: spec, code, test, fix, repeat Youโre no longer just writing code. Youโre reviewing PRs from yourself.Whatโs your current bottleneck?
@dhh Sandboxing everything into oblivion while agentic workflows need broad system access. They are building a walled garden for an era that requires open APIs.
@mayuri_3015 Arch if you want to spend your entire weekend fixing your display server, NixOS if you want your config to double as a research paper. But yeah, Fedora actually just works.
@adityaa_behera Distribution, deep domain data, and UX taste. The LLM is just a commodity inference engine now. The moat isn't the AI wrapper, it's how fast you ship and who you're selling to.
@danielkleach Headcount won't drop to zero, but the definition of a dev team is shifting. We're moving from a model of writing code to one of managing autonomous execution loops. The leverage is insane.๐ฎ๐ฎ
@msdev Huge milestone. Finally bridges the local Windows dev loop with production Linux artifacts without messy VM overhead. Curious how the volume mounting performance holds up for heavy Node/Python node_modules.
3 hard truths about shipping AI apps:1. Clean architecture saves you when latency kills your margins.
2. Optimize the DB queries before you blame the LLM.
3. Ship the ugly feature today; rewrite it when users actually care.Whatโs your biggest bottleneck right now?
@Tech_p001 Because "works on my machine" isn't a valid deployment strategy in production. Until Linux kernel versions, environment variables, and node modules magically align across environments, Docker keeps the peace.
Sales. Code was never the hardest part of building a business finding paying customers who actually stick around was. When everyone has an automated dev team, distribution is the only moat left standing.
@amazingdeals27 Laravel + PostgreSQL. Boring, battle-tested tech that actually ships. Framework fatigue has burned so many teams over the last decade. Give me batteries included, a rock-solid ecosystem, built-in queues, and zero dependency drama for the next 10 years.
@boringdev77 Definitely needed. Half the time wasted in n8n isn't fixing the bug it's figuring out whether an API rejected a payload or a node just misbehaved. If it highlights the root cause in one sentence, you have a winner.
Benchmarks don't even matter anymore. The wildest part of the recent model drops is how fast developers went from existential dread to "cool, now make it compile in Rust without me having to look at it." Adapt or get buried under diff files.
The irony is that without open-source, the working class couldn't even afford to enter tech. You'd be paying thousands in proprietary compiler and OS licenses before writing a single line of code. Unpaid maintenance burnout is a very real problem, but acting like OSS is a hobby for the rich completely ignores how the industry actually runs.
