Albums of April,
Nine Inch Nails, The Fragile
I know most people go straight to The Downward Spiral, but for me, it’s The Fragile.
It’s dark, but it’s also kind of beautiful in its own way.

Albums of April:
Weezer, Blue Album
Who knew nerds could rock like this?
This record is loud, catchy, awkward, funny, and somehow still genuinely cool. More than 30 years later, this one still absolutely works.

Albums of April:
De La Soul, 3 Feet High and Rising
This awesome record came out in 1989, but it still sounds fresh.
It's fun, thoughtful, and just completely its own thing.

Albums of April:
#AmyWinehouse, Back to Black
Some albums sound great. This one sounded important the first time you heard it.
This album had the soul, the songwriting, and the production, but really it all comes back to that voice.

Albums of April:
Weathervanes by #JasonIsbell & the 400 Unit is already one of my favorite albums.
“King of Oklahoma” and “When We Were Close” are both devastating in completely different ways, and “Miles” is a beautiful closer that really stays with you.

Albums of April,
Run the Jewels 3
Of their 4 albums, this is the one I come back to the most.
It’s rap, but it hits with the force of punk rock: stripped down, loud, and aggressive…
It’s intense, confrontational, and awesome. #RTJ
Albums of April,
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Anthology
This compilation album is just one great song after another. And since it’s my daughter Tori’s birthday and she loves “Tears of a Clown,” this one felt right today.

Albums of April: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stadium Arcadium
Probably my favorite RHCP album, even if it’s not the obvious pick. It’s ambitious, all over the place in a good way, and the musicianship is incredible front to back.

Albums of April:
@mirandalambert, Revolution
This album leans more traditional country, has a lot of grit to it, and the writing feels sharper, more personal, and more lived-in than a lot of the mainstream music around it at the time.
Great album from beginning to end.
Albums of April
Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers
Growing up, I had a #70sRock bias, but as I grew up, my musical taste expanded just enough for me to really get this one.
It’s bluesy, grimy, full of great musicianship, and just sounds cool no matter what age you are.
Albums of April – Day 1
#Soundgarden's Superunknown.
Everybody knows the hits… but that’s not even the best part. The deeper tracks are heavier, darker & honestly where this album really takes off.
If you haven’t played it all the way through in a while, it might surprise you.
In 1988, I worked at @Arbys for 8 days to buy Prince tickets. Worth it.
But the real win? A coworker blasting @PublicEnemy on his boom box. That’s when I met #ChuckD and the Bomb Squad. Still obsessed with “Brothers Gonna Work It Out.” Pure fire.
#LoveLettersToMusic
The vinyl version of “Hello It’s Me” by Todd Rundgren starts with a studio flub—a musician jumping in early, then a restart.
It’s raw, human, and totally missing from most streams.
Shoutout to @AppleMusic for keeping that intro in 👍🏽

💔 Ever been stuck in a love you know is bad for you but can’t seem to quit? #LaurynHill’s “Ex-Factor” captures that heartbreak perfectly. Raw, honest, and gut-wrenching, it’s a masterclass in vulnerability.
Sometimes, letting go is the bravest thing you can do.
