The IRS will disallow your tax deduction if you violate the Wash-Sale Rule (IRC §1091).

A wash sale occurs if you purchase the same or a "substantially identical" security within a 61-day window—specifically, 30 days before the sale, the day of the sale, or 30 days after the sale.

Crucial Detail: The wash-sale rule applies across all of your accounts (including your spouse's accounts and IRAs). If you sell an index fund at a loss in your taxable brokerage and automatically buy the same fund inside your IRA or via dividend reinvestment (DRIP) within 30 days, the loss in your taxable account is permanently disallowed.

@CYBERJAY83 @teslaownersSV I would personally choose a robot any time over a human driver. I had the worst luck in drivers who speed, pay no attention, arrive late, circle airports for no reason, etc. The sooner they are replaced by autonomous cars the better!
