What I saw today inside Al-Shifa Hospital made me cry for real. Tears of frustration and heavy grief poured from my eyes as I stood there, unable to believe what I was seeing.

Thousands of people are flooding in from every corner of Gaza. Young men pushing wheelchairs after their legs were amputated. Women walking on crutches with pale faces. Children with bodies full of shrapnel and burns, screaming or waiting in silence with empty eyes.

Everyone is trying to register for treatment abroad. The lists are endless, and the number of wounded increases every day. The scene is beyond imagination.

We are living a real humanitarian catastrophe. Hundreds of thousands are injured, and dozens die every day due to delays, neglect, and blocked travel. My closest friend, who was laughing with me just weeks ago, has been running through the hospital for over fifteen days. His wound is rotting, with no medicine, no bed, and no approval to travel. He looks at me with desperate eyes and says: “I don’t want to die here, Tamer… I still want to live.”

Our lives have become a game in someone’s hands. They treat us like numbers not flesh, not blood, not dreams. Every day we lose part of our souls, and no one hears our screams.
