If I were @JobSikhala1’s PR adviser, I’d have suggested:
1. Issuing a statement to acknowledge and give thanks for support during incarceration, and requesting privacy to reconnect and catch up with family, friends and colleagues
2. Time to catch up with, and reflect on political developments within the country and his own party, including private briefings with political colleagues. Also review reactions to his release, along with the various narratives coming from all quarters, including from within his own opposition camp.
3. Review and crystallise his own position with respect to the state of the opposition and the nation, and set out his key messages to CCC members, conflicting colleagues, and the nation at large, and finally
4. Several days later, give a comprehensive set-piece interview, preferably to a broadcast journalist (avoid risk of being misquoted), addressing all the relevant issues, allowing him to convey all his key messages on these.
Subsequent interviews would then be informed by this script and allow him to stay on message, hammering on the key points thus allowing people to understand his position clearly and guard against it being spun and projected in misleading ways.
But, unfortunately, the horse has since bolted, and the interviews seem to be coming in thick and fast. And several messages are already flying about, and one isn’t sure what Job’s most important message to Zimbabwe is, at this juncture.
The beef that Jonathan Moyo & Hopewell have with Nelson Chamisa got nothing to do with the way he is running CCC. They are just grown men who can't take rejection well.
What a day in Bulawayo today!!!
You see, when a country is dysfunctional, and when politics doesn’t work, nothing will work.
Don’t blame the citizens, give them something to value, and they will be just fine.
P/s the police driving was atrocious!
We have managed to get some great young minds into Parliament from this so called 'election', there is no doubt there will be fire in there.
But these guys made that Parliament one hell of a debate scene. Who are we going to miss most?
Like for Biti OR Retweet for Mliswa🙏💛
