Why send files through the cloud if you can do it without?
I finally shipped AlterSend - now you can send files with zero cloud.

Sad reality for everyone in EU right now
It is time to say bye to any non private tool and switch your file sharing to altersend.
No files stored meaning no one can actually access it, even stupid laws
CHAT CONTROL IS COMING
Even though most Members of the European Parliament have voted to REJECT Chat Control, we have not been able to reach the absolute majority that was needed (361 Members).
This is a sad day for Europeans.
Why I think privacy tools + P2P are going to be a big trend?
People are tired of tech giants collecting their data.
This is my first month building AlterSend, zero ads spent, and the numbers already show real demand:
- 2,500+ downloads
- 865 GitHub stars + first contributors
- Ton of positive feedback & improvements
People are actually leaving WeTransfer and similar tools.
What worked:
• Direct device transfers, no cloud storage, no accounts, unlimited files
• Open sourcing the project, brought first contributors and fast improvements
• Listening to user feedback: shipped Remembered Devices to easier sync devices
Big learning: turning feedback into quick wins really pays off.
Now preparing a big update with more improvements + a relay server to handle CGNAT better.

Why upload your files to Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer just to share them once? ☁️❌
Open Source Gems #14: AlterSend
A free, open-source app that lets you send files directly between devices — no cloud, no size limits, no nonsense. 🧵👇
A lot of people liked AlterSend, but a lot of them asked for the same thing: how can I send files without having to enter a code every single time?
So I am preparing Remembered Devices, save the device, and next time just tap it from the list to send files directly over the internet using DHT.
👉Here’s an early demo
What do you think?
Last week AlterSend got its first GitHub contributors
That massively speeds up development.
We are shipping a new version basically every week now.
v1.3 dropped with 12 languages.
Open source starting to cook.
After the US gov forced Anthropic to block Fable 5, I think people will finally understand why running local AI actually matters.
Only this way you can truly control your privacy and access.
And no one can shut it down overnight.
@noraj_rawsec@AlternativeTo localsend works on the same local network, with altersend devices connect directly over the internet, that mean you can send files to anyone who uses altersend
