The WH posted a screen shot of an eagle on top of a Canadian goose but in the video the goose wins.

Trump made a ‘Mission Accomplished’ post on Iran that included George W. Bush & Iraq.

A GOP Rep. banned Jelly Roll from his district because he made a fat joke about Trump.

And the sealant on the Reflecting Pool is peeling again.

The "data" behind the claim that voting for and supporting Trump is not an inherently pro-life act is that *abortions went up during his presidency.* The evidentiary burden beyond that is not on @DavidAFrench or I (see my book Reclaiming Hope for a definitive assessment of the abortion debate during the Obama years), but on the people who persist in justifying persistent support for Trump on abortion--sometimes, nearly exclusively--in spite of his record.

I think David's argument re: the libertine impulse is compelling. Conservatives used to understand that culture is important even if you can't always assess its impact in linear, obvious ways. It's been so strange to see conservatives argue that character and culture somehow don't matter, when it's an understanding of those things that, in my view, make conservatism so potent and resilient. It's why George W. Bush was so correct to speak of a "culture of life."

Relatedly, Trump's clear insincerity on the issue, and so much of the pro-life movement's willingness to attach itself to Trump, undermined how Americans viewed the sincerity of pro-life arguments in general.

I hope conservatives reclaim their insights regarding character and culture, because the nation needs them.
