Lula da Silva’s former DOJ and a long-time politician from PCdoB (Communist Party of Brazil) said that amnesty does not bring peace, since @realDonaldTrump pardoned the J8rs and Charlie was still assassinated.

He even says that he will amend his vote in order to use the Charlie Kirk case to criticize the U.S.

And he concluded: what brings peace is the functioning of the repressive system of the institutions, dismissing the popular will and reducing democracy to strong institutions, when in fact this is a genuinely fascist argument - the very adjective they use to label the right in Brazil.

The entire narrative construction of the current regime aims to normalize the extermination of political opponents. The next step of a tyranny, once denounced internationally, is to promote a public extermination policy against dissidents.

You may think it’s an exaggeration - I know it seems so. But 10 years ago, it would also have seemed like an exaggeration to suppose that 70 year old ladies would be sentenced to 17 years in prison for a so-called “coup d’Etat.”
