Hybrid Mining for Security and Decentralization:
Fractal employs a hybrid mining model where two-thirds of blocks are mined permissionlessly and one-third is merged-mined with Bitcoin. This ensures strong network security by leveraging Bitcoin's vast hashrate while promoting decentralization by allowing open participation in the mining process.

Smart Contracts on Bitcoin:
By enabling smart contracts via the OP_CAT opcode, Fractal supports the development of complex decentralized applications directly on the Bitcoin network. This unlocks advanced financial services like decentralized lending, tokenization, and automated trading, which were previously limited to other blockchains such as Ethereum.

PizzaSwap DEX:
Fractal’s native decentralized exchange, PizzaSwap, will launch on September 30, 2024. PizzaSwap will support a range of assets, including native BRC-20 tokens, bridged Bitcoin assets, and Runes (after activation at block height 84,000). Transaction fees on PizzaSwap will be paid in $SATS, ensuring low-cost, fast trades.

Cross-Chain Asset Support:
Fractal integrates bridges like Bool Bridge and SimpleBridge to facilitate seamless asset transfers between Fractal and other networks. This enhances liquidity and broadens the functionality of the Fractal network, allowing users to move Bitcoin, BRC-20 tokens, and Runes across different blockchains.

Decentralized Governance and Community Focus:
With 80% of its token supply allocated to the community, Fractal promotes a user-driven ecosystem. Through community grants, governance mechanisms, and developer incentives, the project ensures that future development aligns with the needs and vision of its users.

Tokenomics and the FB Token
Fractal operates using its native FB (Fractal Bitcoin) token, designed to incentivize participation, secure the network, and fund ecosystem growth. It's used to pay transactions fees within the fractal ecosystem. The tokenomics of FB are carefully designed to ensure long-term sustainability, security, and community involvement.

Proof of Work Mining (50%):
Half of the total FB supply is allocated to PoW mining, ensuring that Fractal is secured through a mining mechanism similar to Bitcoin. This mining model rewards miners for producing blocks and securing the network, reinforcing the PoW security model.

Mining Schedule:
The PoW mining rewards are distributed over time to maintain network stability and ensure a fair reward structure for miners.

Ecosystem Treasury (15%):
15% of the total supply is reserved for the Ecosystem Treasury, which will fund the development of the Fractal ecosystem over the long term. These funds will be used to improve the network and support various initiatives, such as new dApp development and infrastructure upgrades. No more than 10% of the treasury will be used annually, ensuring responsible and sustained growth.

Community Grants (10%):
10% of FB tokens are allocated for community grants, designed to boost engagement through partnerships, liquidity programs, and network expansion. These grants will be used to onboard new developers, fund innovative projects, and drive overall community participation. Similar to the ecosystem treasury, only 10% of this pool can be used per year.

Pre-Sale (5%):
5% of the FB token supply was allocated to early investors through a pre-sale. These funds were critical in covering initial development costs, conducting security audits, and ensuring network robustness. To maintain long-term investment alignment, these tokens are subject to a seven-month lock-up period, followed by a linear release schedule until the 12-month mark.

Advisor Allocation (5%):
Another 5% of the FB supply is reserved for advisors who contribute strategic support to Fractal's long-term development. To prevent over-distribution, only 20% of this pool will be accessible per year, spread out over five years.

Core Contributors (15%):
15% of the tokens are reserved for core contributors, the developers, and maintainers of Fractal's software. These tokens are also locked for seven months, with a linear release schedule over 12 months, ensuring that contributors remain committed to the project’s long-term success.
