It coincided with locusts, ecomonic struggles & worstened by a political & Shabab situation. Covid also laid bare a lot of the faultlines, i hope we can rise to the occasion.

We have many community workers, well placed to understand the issues & challenges, but who have no training. We need to explore community based MH provision approaches-these have been tried in complex contexts (Myanmar, Congo,etc.)

Indivdual communties suffering from mental health issues are generally ostracized, and minorites and internally displaced communities suffering from trauma need support and space.

On the least harmful end of the scale, mental health issues are severely stigmatized, so asking for support is next to impossible, never mind having access to any available resources. CT
