Any more conversations on this? I really am interested as I am coaching 4th grade girls. There are leagues in these newly-built youth facilities that start in early November and end in mid-February. These facilities are being built, so there must be a lot of interest.

Trying to expand my understanding…why are youth basketball seasons the same or longer than high school basketball seasons? What are the advantages and disadvantages especially in regards to keeping kids interested once they get to high school?
