I really don't agree with community members or content creators working with game developers before a game is released. I've been on both sides of this, and I'm heavily against content creators benefiting in any way from the developers. It creates division and lets people use their special NDA position to gain leverage over everyone else in the community.

Then you've got a whole team of shills hyping up the game and praising everything the company does just to keep those benefits flowing.

I don't think it's wise for game developers to keep paying—or indirectly paying—people to manufacture false hype. It's a disgrace. We should get back to making good-quality games instead of the corporate slop that's produced for massive in-game profits rather than for the actual gamers and the game's own community.

Game companies that run these paid shill teams will keep building fake environments just to sell the illusion that the game will be amazing — all while killing honest community feedback in the process.
