@kroketrendang4@Pribaris The term "safe horny" largely refers to whether the media corporations, and those who agree with them, will attack that brand of horny or not. Stellar Blade was attacked as bad, Hades II was held up as a good example. I find Stellar Blade's horny a lot more appealing than Hades'.
@Lightstation_ [2/2] Pyrr decided to defend piloting and then had someone pilot his account the next solo raid, then proudly posted the SR rank he got from being piloted. When a company tells you they are cracking down on cheating and you proudly and openly do it, there will be consequences.
@Lightstation_ Shift Up decided to make a post about banning obvious cheaters and publicly showed how long the bans were for. Some short bans got the KR and JP fans to have an uproar so Shift Up devoted themselves to cracking down on anything seen as cheating, including piloting. [1/2]
@Vorpal_Kitty@CorenLaVolpe It's actually Dexerto's clickbaiting that set it off, the article almost exclusively has the devs talk about their Trevor designs, not the female designs, but Dexerto posted with the female character portraits.
@thevoidopens@deedeevertigo I mean when what they find attractive gets continuously demonized, then comes in something they don't find attractive that they get told they should find attractive or are defective, are you surprised at the resentment?
@GileThirsts@bmodoart Dexerto's article says devs wanted a horny response to their designs, potential audience says why they aren't having said response.
What we find hot gets demonized by media corporations (ex: Stellar Blade) but what we don't find hot gets praised as the "right way" to do hot.
@GileThirsts@bmodoart Then it escalated on both sides. Calling people gay for not finding the designs hot (something the defenders of the style say a lot) is telling people they should find them attractive.
@GileThirsts@bmodoart The post that started it was an online publication posting two in-game female characters from Castlevania and saying in their interview that the devs said they purposefully made the characters hot in hopes of getting horny fan-art. People responded saying they don't find it hot.
@Sneedsfeedweeds@bmodoart Must tend towards different circles cause I saw plenty of people saying they decided to skip out of Hades due to the art style of the gods.
@AyaVi8 You've already angered some of the more prominent nijisisters in the QRT's.
Also remember that the main discussion area about Nijisanji on nyfco was the comment section of Nina's dox page. And they still try to say they didn't harass the shit out of her.
@HatchetHead33@Wasbixenowulf It's a strategy we got from the last decade of your side doing it. Seeing current day media it seemed to have been effective.
@BongOfHolding Safe horny means horny that isn't ruthlessly attacked by gaming media, and those that side with them, or is instead celebrated. Games media celebrated Hades II horny, but attacked things like Stellar Blade horny.
