I've found that animating chemical reaction mechanisms is well worth the effort for helping to explain reaction mechanisms, especially to students and non-chemists. For example, I made this simplified self-immolation animation to explain our linkers from https://t.co/K0Xu8zxpbN
🧲 This is a real #NMRchallenge for students and #NMR geeks developed by the NMR group @IOCBPrague: practice solving structures from hundreds of NMR spectra and become an NMR guru.

Pumped to see this out in @NatureNano! Many congrats to the brilliant @deant94@YansongRen@SalmaKassem Dan & Ulvi🎉🥂👏 Special thanks to Anna @SciCommStudios for the cool video!😍 Free view-only link to paper: https://t.co/wnfOPn5rX2
Delighted that our Perspective article in @ChemPlusChem with @ChampnessGroup on Metal-Organic Frameworks and Metal-Organic Cages tops the list of their most accessed articles in Dec 21 and is second over the whole of 2021👇

Last Friday marked my last official day @SydneyChemistry and my last day in academia (at least for now). Thanks @LMacreadie for throwing together impromptu Zoom drinkies :) Thanks to all my colleagues and students for all the support and great memories!
An Account of our work in the area of helical metallopolymers is now online!🧬💡🔌Incl. discussion on how we entered this area, approaches to controlling the metallopolymer's structures, and an overview of their applications. @ChemCambridge@impchemistry

@JakeyLG@ChemCambridge@impchemistry Beautiful work Jake! I remember the first time I saw you present this at group meeting. You’ve really made this project a huge success - well done!
“Isn’t the best way to stimulate growth to change the narrative about how we can build world class industries and businesses through innovation and R&D, rather than drive interest rates to zero or less than zero in an effort to drive savers to spend their money” 1/2
@Borodin_O_@fiszczyp I’d be able to still follow my passion for research while being able to build my family’s life without the disruptions that early-career academia seems to generally bring. Hopefully the situation will improve for early career academics… but I don’t think that time is right now.
@Borodin_O_@fiszczyp 2/2 a few months ago I was recruited for a great opportunity to work in industrial R&D (ongoing contract). The alternative was having to win more fellowships to stay employed in academia (there is a paucity of ongoing jobs in Australian academia). So, I went for option A as…
