@LloydCymru I do understand where you're coming from (I loved living in bilingual Aberystwyth), but I think the truth is that unless it is used everywhere by some people, you land up with places in Wales (like where I am now) with no interest in the language at all

More Epiphany thoughts on "stars:" . . . . We’ve confused stars with signals. The stars we celebrate ask only for our gaze; they glitter and stay put, turning us into spectators circling the same names on the same ground. But the Star of Bethlehem was never meant to be admired—it was meant to be followed. It did not offer a show but a summons, not a red carpet but a rugged road. The world’s stars keep us watching; this Star gets us walking. Its path is the Christian red carpet—dusty, demanding, and directional—leading not to applause or a spotlight, but to a red cross. Because stars were never meant to be stared at. They were meant to lead us somewhere. #Epiphany
Lord, thank you for preachers. Empower them to remain prayerful and faithful as they prepare talks for carol services and other events. Help them communicate in a relatable way that points people to Jesus and encourages them to live out their faith in all of life. Amen.
We’re delighted to announce Mark Herrod as RABI’s new Chair of the Council of Trustees. Mark has been a trustee since 2021 and brings both deep understanding and commitment to the farming community. His appointment marks an important step as RABI begins to deliver its new five-year strategy to reduce the wellbeing gap for farming people.
Mark succeeds John Stanley, who has retired after three years as RABI Chair and almost a decade as a dedicated trustee. John’s steady leadership and lived farming experience have guided RABI through a period of growth, new wellbeing initiatives and stronger reach across England and Wales.
Two new Trustees also join the Council:
• @terry_NFU, Director General of the @NFUtweets, with extensive leadership experience across the food and farming sector.
• Tom Rawson (@Evo_Farming), a tenant dairy farmer from West Yorkshire and former NFU Dairy Vice Chair, known for his forward-thinking approach and deep sector insight.
Together, they bring strategic expertise, practical knowledge and lived experience - reinforcing RABI’s commitment to professional, compassionate and trusted support for farming people.

@Sean_McDowell I prefer the redemption wording, but can understand you choosing self-justification as few deny that we want to see ourselves as right (whereas few acknowledge that we need to be saved).
"If [the Church] will not uphold its own doctrine, how can it be trusted to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ?" asks @A_Minichiello.
Cherry Vann's appointment as Archbishop of Wales only further exposes the Church's apostasy and disregard for the Bible.

“I’d say, in 100 years, if Christians are people identified as those who do not kill their children or their elderly, we would have been doing something right.”

Utterly devastated that Parliament has voted in favour of the assisted dying bill. An awful end to a terrible week in Westminster for those of us who believe passionately in the sanctity of life. Lord have mercy 🙏 😢
If a baby is born after 24 weeks, it gets a birth certificate. It is a crime to kill it. If a baby after 24 weeks is stillborn, its parents are entitled to maternity and paternity pay and receive a death certificate. But if the baby is after 24 weeks, but it hasn’t been born yet then it’s not a baby but a “bundle of cells” and it is no longer a crime to kill that baby. I’m sorry but this is mad.
Respectable diplomacy is essential for peace.
We need to remember that the villain is the war criminal President Putin who illegally invaded another sovereign country - Ukraine. A divided West only benefits Russia. Now is the time for more cooperation, not less.
Any peace agreement must be negotiated with Ukraine at the table, and will need security guarantees.
We cannot lose sight of the fact that tonight air raid sirens are sounding in Ukraine.

Just finishing a one-year Bible reading plan. What a blessing, and what a culmination as God’s invitation is offered once more – maybe for you right now… Don’t miss this opportunity to say YES to Jesus!!

Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.”
Let anyone who is thirsty come.
Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.” 🤲🏼

The NFU remains at the centre of the #StopTheFamilyFarmTax campaign as NFU President Tom Bradshaw (@ProagriLtd) gives evidence to @CommonsEFRA. Tom cited countless examples from farmers on the very real consequences the changes could have.
