Growing up nominally Lutheran in Vancouver, Washington, Father MJ Groark fell into a life of addiction, homelessness, and dissipation. After hitting rock bottom—and with his parents praying for him daily for years—he got sober, entered the Catholic Church, and was drawn to the Franciscan way of life. He became a friar, then a priest, and now serves as a diocesan priest in the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
This is an amazing story of redemption, the power of prayer, the work of the Holy Spirit, and God’s ability to bring good out of all things. Listen as Father MJ shares his journey.
It’s so easy to join the fragile, loud, fearful and angry mob that roams from outrage to outrage, burning and pillaging all in our path.
The leaders of these mobs point to the newest outrage and we run at their command; filled with indignation & righteousness.
In the meantime, Gods Word collects dust on our tables and bookshelves.
The voice of the Shepherd is there in that Word, longing to heal you and lead you to Heaven.
Should you pause and hear His voice, there will be no ashes & destruction in your path, but only goodness and kindness.
Pray for the grace to learn the voice of the Shepherd.
Follow that voice.

The Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, and especially Provincial Superior Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, are warning the faithful about a serious and growing problem: impersonators are using artificial intelligence to create false or manipulated content that appears to feature Fr. Chris. AI technology can now imitate a person’s voice, appearance, and manner of speaking with alarming realism. Even more concerning, these fake videos can alter or fabricate Fr. Chris Alar’s teachings, making it appear that he said or taught things that he never did. A video that looks and sounds like Fr. Chris may not be real.

AI can imitate a face and voice—but it can also put words in someone’s mouth that they never said. STOP. CHECK THE SOURCE. VERIFY BEFORE YOU SHARE.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Brad Miner: The latest fad in Church governance is an existential threat. Its very mechanism will transform Catholicism into just another Protestant sect. https://t.co/uP31YEGrgQ
