Forgot to mention: came home from the hospital yesterday. Bleeding has stopped for now. Because of my liver cancer my platelet count is pretty terrible and will be in the future, so, keeping an eye on things is just going to be a way of life for me.
For dinner I threw together some chicken, bell peppers, onion, ginger, apple, garlic, lemon juice, & soy sauce. And a bit of cornstarch to thicken. Yum.
@Kidneyjerk Yup. Got home last night & went to dialysis today but they didn't pull any fluid off me because my blood pressure started off too low (low 90s.)
Back in the hospital. Had a bloody nose that wouldn't stop. Went to urgent care but he didn't want to touch me once he knew I had cancer. ( Could be related.) Off to hospital.
Turns out my platelet count was horribly low possibly from my liver cancer, and my blood pressure & potassiun were really high so getting those under control was priority #1 right now.
It's a "we'll have to see how it goes" project I guess.
* Lung cancer: The bad news. It's advanced stage 4. There will be no cure for this. It'll be managed so it doesn't get worse, and at some point there'll be chemotherapy but not yet.
Quick cancer update: met with my new oncologist last week & he's going to follow the suggestions my previous one sent him in a letter.
* Brain tumor: gone
* Liver & bone cancer: starting tomorrow I'll be doing immunotherapy every 3 weeks or so.
Basically, I'll be hooked up with an IV & they inject 2 medications for 2 hours. How long will I be doing this? A long time. The problem with this is this type of therapy was never tested with dialysis use coinciding with it, so, no research.
Went back to the hospital tonight. *sigh* I finally cut my hair short the way I wanted & got in the tub to rinse off when I noticed blood EVERYWHERE. SO MUCH BLOOD.
Apparently I had a vericose vein that popped open and wouldn't stop bleeding no how much pressure I used or how long I pressed down on it. Had to call 911. Got taken in and had silver nitrate applied to it and wrapped up.
