"I'm 67 years old. I've lived almost twice of Abhijeet Dipke. I don't even know my father's exact birth date because he himself didn't know when he was born. In our time, brday didn't mean much. I don't even remember which college I graduated from and this gutter mouth Abhijeet Dipke is questioning Prime Minister Modi. Modi ji graduated in 1978, when Abhijeet Dipke's father was in primary. Back then, degrees didn't carry the same importance they do today and access to education was far more limited.

He's asking for Modi ji's certificates as if that proves anything. In our time, many people didn't even know the correct names of their grandfathers. Countless land records and documents were lost for the same reason. I'm an old man. I've lived through different eras and I know what has been good for this nation. So why would I vote for Abhijeet Dipke who doesn't even know how this nation has evolved? He says Modi shouldn't connect with Gen Z because Modi is old. Then why should people like us connect with you? You're just a young fool."

I will explain why good parenting mentoring and building social character values distinct from individual virtue which is the basis of social capital is needed

Financial capital and intellectual capital belong to the individual who has it.

Social capital is social discipline which belongs to the society. We call it dharma in India. That is what has sustained our nation

West never recognised social capital till Robert Putnam and Francis Fukuyama spoke about it in 1990s

Social capital is rooted in relation based society.

A pure contract based society can't build or maintain social capital.

Fukuyama says family is the first institution that socialises a child into a responsible person

It is the first unit of social capital

Next is neighbourhood. Third is educational domain. Next is elder-younger interface. It keeps expanding. No individual is individual. Everyone is integral to the whole

Let me say what the basic unit of social capital, the family does in India. Just a few examples

Over 84% of present generation takes care of the elders

96-97% of physically disabled are taken care of by families

98-99 % of mentally disabled are taken care of by families

85-90% students are provided higher education by families

Can any state or institutional mechanism supplant it.

Good parenting and mentoring is inevitable. Family and society must align and work together
