THANK YOU for the concern & support for my wife & family. We still can’t quite wrap our brains around all of the people who continue to comment, or send messages of love & support. It’s a long road to recovery, & this is something we’ll carry with us for the rest of our lives. Especially my wife. I’ve been amazed at her strength as she continues to heal.

THANK YOU for sharing your stories with me/us. These early morning conversations have kept me sane. I’ve definitely had my moments, but I’m trying to keep it all together. Hearing your heartbreaking stories of loss have only made it more evident how much things have to change. Thank you. We hear you.

THANK YOU for continuing to use your platforms here, big or small, to share our story. As a lot of you have seen, there is A LOT of ignorance, and hate, in response to stories like ours. I now understand more than ever: We HAVE TO KEEP TALKING. Even in the face of all the ignorance and hate.

We are here because of TEXAS ABORTION LAWS. Anyone who argues otherwise is part of the problem. I’m sure they will continue to spew their ignorant nonsense arguments, & I will CONTINUE TO TELL THE TRUTH.

I am hopeful that our story getting shared will have an impact. I am hopeful that it can/will inspire change. But the truth is, you never know with this sort of thing.

Regardless, I had to try. I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t.

And in a Washington state prison, some years ago, they decided to conduct an unusual experiment.

As planned, for good behavior, prisoners were allowed to take cats for guardianship. An important point: these poor homeless animals were waiting for euthanasia, because they could not find the owners. Thus, the prison authorities decided to take them in.

As a result, harsh prisoners became calmer and kinder. Moreover, the convicts even began to work harder to earn new toys and sweets for their furry cellmates.
