A year ago I asked for help to go all-in on @DisDebrief.
An incredible response let me continue to build a newsletter and library relied upon by the disability movement all over the world.
See an annual stocktake and ask for help doing more in 2024:

@ChapalKhasnabis Hey Chapal da. I'm trying to gather info on how US pause of foreign aid is affecting disabled people.
Would love any insights or tips of folk to contact.

Learning from twitter has shaped a lot of my life and career over the more than a decade I've been on here. Keeping up with disability twitter led to my current project writing about international news.
But it's time to find new homes. Find me on @desibility.bsky.social
@MonicaLMarks for me the Khalifa interview wasn't about 🇵🇸 but about life online and the way she manages her image - i think the nyt intro of it is fair description
This is tough one, I think we're all navigating how we use AI.
AI is a great assistant, and I use it as such.
But we need to be careful about letting it take over.
In my own work, I prioritise hearing directly from disabled people.

Reporting and media are essential for democratic exchange.
Transparency and accountability are especially needed in issues that affect marginalized populations.
Too much has been done in the name of disabled people without us knowing anything about it.

@DLBLLC great to meet you here! Would love to know more about you and your work.
Mine is at @DisDebrief - best way to follow is the weekly newsletter if you don't already https://t.co/rw2FDSy77j
@DLBLLC Really well-put, thanks Darren - and great to connect here.
You capture well why disability-inclusion efforts need to do much more to invest in media.

@desibility Yes. And this lack of accountability reinforces exclusion and silences our voices. Investigative journalism has the power to challenge these dynamics, exposing hidden decisions and helping to ensure disabled people are not just consulted but leading the conversation. #AXSChat
@Unuhinuii Oh great to meet you here.
If you didn't see already I write @DisDebrief and cover disability news from all over the world https://t.co/rw2FDSy77j
I'm always looking to connect with folk that might be interested to write, so take a look then hit me up
The first challenge is getting our foot - or wheel, or cane - in the door. Journalism opportunities are extremely limited.
The answer is simple: support disabled journalists and their work. Money, clicks, it all counts.
We get the media we pay attention to.
