This World Mental Health Day, we're focusing on the workplace. For disabled people, access to work itself is a critical issue that impacts their well-being. Speaking to disabled people from India, I highlight the ways they try to make work accessible for themselves and others
The root cause of unemployment among disabled is the belief that disabilities are defects. Also the misguided notion … when a candidate does not fit the mainstream idea of how a disabled person appears. And so people with mental illnesses & invisible disabilities are rejected.
“Finding accessible work is hard work.”
Today's Debrief explores the challenges disabled people face finding work in India.

What went wrong at the International Disability Alliance (IDA)?
At the start of the year an independent review found “signals of mismanagement” and alleged “abuse of power” by its leadership. Around $850,000 was identified as “financial irregularities”.
