@arjunrajane It's a limitation of how many games can be shown at one time with all languages for B/W/B2/W2 being able to be loaded from the SD card. Try to hit the L button at the start of transporter and select Japanese. Then it'll only show those language's titles

@CentroLeaks@arjunrajane Even if shutting down the 3DS servers was Nintendo’s decision, I still think TPC could have worked with Nintendo to prepare an update that would let Pokémon Bank function offline
@arjunrajane Their naming is probably off. Check out this part of the docs to name them after their correct internal names:

I can also confirm that the naming mismatch doesn't cause any problems. It's just cosmetic but will be fixed shortly with a new version
Just released some QoL changes to my offline patch for Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter: https://t.co/fitJYQ7Qi3
The only thing that would still be on my mind to be reimplemented are past gift distributions.
#savepokemonbank
@arjunrajane Thanks for the report. I'll look into it and fix this mismatch. I didn't have any VC title saves on my 3ds with homebrew so I couldn't check on it. I'll let you know once there is an update
@arjunrajane That's working as intended because the patch can also load nds games that are saved on the SD card via Twilight Menu or nds forwarder. It's documented on the README. Just hit L and load whichever language games you want to transfer from
@arjunrajane That's normal because box names, adventure records etc. are all saved on the server which Bank with the patch has to recreate. There is probably a way of extracting that data and import it as my offline format but I didn't work on something like that
@arjunrajane That was my hope since they announced the service becoming free until they close it down.
Unfortunately, with TPC's track record of questionable software during the Switch's lifetime, it simply is just not going to happen
@arjunrajane I'm not sure if there will be another release if I don't run into problems. I haven't encountered any issues and as long as I don't find any in the future this is as stable as it will probably get.
I already fully migrated my Pokémon to this local save as it takes time to do so
@arjunrajane Yes, it's a Luma3DS patch and as long as the online version works it makes sense to toggle game patching on/off. The only thing that will be reset is the language selection which you'd simply have to choose again.
I'm currently not planning to restore the main menu of Bank again
@arjunrajane That would be my advice for all types of homebrew though, that touch data which has some kind of worth to it.
Hope that clears things up a bit :)
@arjunrajane No worries, I'm aware that it's controversial.
I mainly used AI because I literally can't find the time anymore to learn these type of topics myself. While I'm able to write and read code, this would have taken an ungodly amount of time over multiple months which I don't have
@arjunrajane In this case if anyone wants to take the project as inspiration to do it by hand, be my guest but I don't see it done anytime soon. The effort easily tops the outcome.
If there are issues I'm happy to look at them. Just make sure to backup your saves before starting to use it
@arjunrajane No one was doing something like that for Bank for a long time.
I used the implementation also as a test on what AI is capable to achieve after seeing all the crazy mods that are popping up everywhere. It's always a question of how and for what AI was applied
@arjunrajane I removed it because all of the options on that menu besides the about bank button are tied to the online service. If there would ever be a good reason to have the functionality of any of those other screens, the menu would be easy to bring back
@arjunrajane Yeah, that part would only ever be possible if TPC did the update for Bank because they're the ones who are in control over their HOME server side verification for the legality of a Pokémon moving beyond Gen 7.
Unfortunately, we all know that will never happen
The Pokémon Company could've easily invested two weekends' worth of time into making the unnecessary online part of Pokémon Bank offline instead of these half-baked HOME additions..
For preservation of Gen 6 and 7 games, I've done exactly that: https://t.co/ePcuLCYZsF
@keeppokemonbank While home support isn't something that can be preserved after the shutdown, I made sure to have a Luma3DS offline patch for Bank and Transporter so you can still transfer Pokémon between Gen 6/7 and the VC games:
https://t.co/GOv7jWMGNx
@zjrosal@CallDitto750@SerebiiNet The outrageous part is that it didn't even require too much work to make something like this because most of the logic is done on the client anyways.
I've made an offline patch for Bank and Transporter: https://t.co/GOv7jWMGNx
An import of real Bank data also seems feasible.
